Connecting To Your Clothing… Creating Harmony & Balance

When we wear clothing in colors that are connected to our personal coloring and contrast, we create harmony and balance. We look connected to our clothing. Some of us have an eye for colors that connect with our personal coloring. It was my natural eye for color and fashion that made me want to learn more about it and that’s how I started down the path of training at the Fashion Institute of Technology and Image Resource Center New York. I wanted to know why I selected the prints and colors that I thought looked good on me. Once I learned more about color, the psychology of color, contrast, features, and balance points I wanted to share it and help everyone feel connected to their clothing.

I use the four-season color analysis system. I am a winter with medium-high contrast. Knowing this information helps me select colors that are connected to my personal coloring and contrast. I take my color fan with me every time I shop or reference it while shopping online. I am also aware that my black hair makes me an “absolute winter”. Being an absolute winter makes black with primary red, yellow and blue a great combination for me. My harmony colors are compatible to black, white, grey, and navy.

What colors look good on you? Do you have high, medium, or low, contrast? Do you wear colors that are connected to your personal coloring and contrast? Do you know what metallics look good on you to select the best accessories and eyewear?
